Piyas boyfriend was told that the house belonged to a lady who was accused to be a witch and then killed by her family. However, she returned for revenge as a ghost and killed her entire family. But after a tiny bash of music, dance and beer, Piyas boyfriend senses eeriness in the house, he leaves the house with Piya. Uday dismisses them and ties Ragini to the bed with a handcuff. while they are kissing, Udays hair is pulled by someone. He realizes that someone is present in the house. Ragini spots a camera in the room and realizes Udays intentions, she shouts at him but she cannot do anything as she is tied to the bed and the key goes missing. As matters worsen, Uday runs away leaving Ragini alone in the house. The spirit does not let him escape the house, Uday returns upstairs bruised, the ghost enters Udays body and makes him commit suicide. Ragini struggles to get unlocked from the cuffs before the sun rises. She finds the key under the bed, but fails to get it. Next night the ghost attacks her again but she manages to break free from the chain by cutting her wrist with glass. She then escapes the house. She runs and screams for help and sees the light of a car headlight, she chases it till she finds Piya and her boyfriend lying dead inside the car. She tries starting the car but the car fails to start. The ghost grabs her and brings her back inside the house again. The ghost tells that she is not a witch, she did not kill her children, it is her house, she will not get out the house and will not let others get out alive. Ragini slowly rises up in the air and becomes unconscious. As it becomes day, she slips down onto the ground, still alive and free to escape. Upon release, the film met with mixed reviews. It titillates, it petrifies, but most importantly, it tells you a story which is daunting, imaginative and unconventional." Ankur Pathak from Rediff.com gave the film 3.5/5 stars and said "Ekta Kapoors new film is terrifyingly real, and immensely watchable for the cold fright it inspires. He said "...Ragini MMS makes a heady cocktail of sex and horror thats so very different from run-of-the-mill Bollywood." Lawsuit
Deepika, a girl from Delhi, on whom the film is partly based, has filed a lawsuit on producer Ekta Kapoor. Deepika claims that, according to her contract, Ekta would show her the film before its premiere to ensure Deepika was not picturised in a negative light. However, after many days, Deepika had still not seen the film and Ekta had been avoiding her phone calls. With Ekta not speaking the truth in public, Deepika has the feeling that people might think that even the intimate scenes were of her as well.
